The Jupiteers

A final project for my HND creative animation course at City of Glasgow College. We had to create a trailer for a proposed animated kids tv show. My show, 'The Jupiteers' was the story of two aliens who crash land in a retro future 1950's American suburb and by taking on the stereotypical roles of the American nuclear family find a way to blend in and live on earth. The show would follow their lives living undercover and the many silly ways they would fool their neighbours into looking past the antenna eyeballs and at what perfect American citizens they were!

The project had us combine 3D digital animation with a style of our choosing and I chose to create mine as a mixture of stopmotion and 3D graphics. The project was created fully from home during 2020 lockdown, with the armature puppets made fully by me from scratch.

I really enjoyed this project as it was the first time I had ever made a stop motion animation, so I felt I learned a lot during the project about armatures, green screen-sets, animation and editing.
